Day 1 Arriving in Edinburgh
Flying into Edinburgh airport you’ll be meet by your Full On Adventure guide for the week.
We’ll take you to comfortable hotel where you can relax or drop your bags and explore the city. Maybe take a spooky tour of the old town, or walk the Royal Mile from Edinburgh Castle , past the Scottish Paliment to Palace of Holyrood.
Drive to the Cairgorms National Park, where in the afternoon after a great lunch at the famous mountain cafe , you ride the rapids on our specially designed Adventure River tubes. Like WW Rafting but better we descent a clear mountain stream that flows out of beautiful highland glen.
Then in the evening you have the option to spend some time in a nature hide where you can see Pine Martins and other iconic Scottish species.
Then relax in the Old Bridge Inn beside the River Spey, famous for its food, whisky and live music.
Time to head west, to the Creag Meagaigh national nature reserve. We launch our canoes below the last water fall on the river Pattack, following it into Loch Laggan. We stop for a snack on the natural sandy beach at the head of the loch before paddling past the castle used in the Monarch of the Glen BBC TV series. After stopping for lunch on an island with ancient ruins we finish below the mountains of Creag Meagaidh.
Then its time for Canyoning before heading to Fort William, “Adventure Capital of the UK” the night.
Today you climb Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. Rather than using the tourist track our guides will show you the north side of the mountain. You’ll pass on your mountain walk below the great cliffs that are world famous for climbing, then via the Carn Mor Dearg ridge to the summit.
We head north to the shores of Loch Ness where you visit the Urquhart Castle and then search the loch by kayak for the monster. Descending on the River Ness we paddle right into the centre of Inverness the highland capital and your base for the evening. More great food, culture and traditional music.
Bike some great cycle trails that suit your riding style and fitness and then to Dalwinnie distillary for their unique tour which pairs Classic single malts with specially selected luxury highland chocolates. Before returning to your hotel in Edinburgh.
