Mountain Biking? Maybe we should have done the Canyoning!

Mountain Biking? Maybe we should have done the Canyoning

With the Scottish highlands emerging as the new adventure sports capital of the UK and Europe, the ‘Full On Adventure’ week includes: River Canoeing, Canyoning, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Munro Bagging and White Water Rafting.

Staying in Aviemore, the highland resort centre of the Cairngorms National Park, you’ll be taking on the challenges of these adventure sports over 5 Full On days in the company of other like minded adventurous adults. Because we’re based in Aviemore, you’ll be staying in comfortable accommodation (see options) and able to make the most of the village’s bars, shops and restaurants. You can opt for extra days’ adventures to add on at either end of your week. And how about a night in the highland capital of Inverness to check out the city’s night life and sights?

We provide all the gear, the local knowledge and the very best adventure guides and you bring the desire for adventure.

ACTIVITIES

ITINERARY

Arriving in Aviemore on Sunday night enjoy some local beers whilst awaiting tomorrow’s excitement.
DAY 1
Caneoing near Aviemore

Caneoing near Aviemore

Monday, we start the week by heading to the river Spey to learn the skills of white water open canoeing and spend the day descending the river stopping off for a packed lunch and finishing right in Aviemore. There is a traditional highland pub right at the take out, making a great place to relax after the first day’s adventures.
DAY 2
A refreshing slide in our canyon

A refreshing slide in our canyon

Tuesday, after a full breakfast and fresh coffee in the mountain cafe we head for the Canyon. Clearing those heads it's straight into the water we go, swimming under waterfalls, jumping into deep plunge pools and cascading down natural water flumes at super high speed. Canyoning is a must try adventure sport up there with the likes of White Water Rafting for excitement. Then after the Canyon it's off for lunch at the mountain biking cafe. Time to hit the trails, there's even the option of uplift by minibus if you've chosen a heavy duty down hill bike or are just feeling lazy. The trails are graded from blue, through red to black just like ski trails so you can choose a route that will give you the maximum enjoyment and you can build up as you gain in confidence.
DAY 3
Wednesday morning we head to the sea cliffs or mountain crags for a day’s rock climbing and abseiling. Then off to a Whisky distillery to calm the nerves and sample the very best Scottish Malts.
DAY 4
Finish the week rafting on the Findhorn

Finish the week rafting on the Findhorn

Thursday, and it’s time to bag a Munro or few, we head into the Cairngorm mountains with one of our qualified mountain guides. The special knowledge of our guides makes the day in the big mountains extra rewarding.
DAY 5
For the big final day Friday, it’s the mighty river Findhorn rafting, rated as the UK's best rafting run we spend the whole day negotiating the Full On rapids as the river squeezes its way through stunning gorges and over big drops. Then back to Aviemore for the big Friday barbeque and beers.
